Real motorcycle road racing this week - and THE MAN in one of his final major events.
The wonderful Joey Dunlop still on top form at the age of 47 winning the Ulster GP at Dundrod in 1999, a year before his tragic death.
It's sobering to imagine, when you watch this clip, the likes of Moss, Fangio and Hawthorn wrestling their Le Mans Jaguars and Mercedes around the very same course , most of it looking like a B-road, in the 1955 RAC TT event.
Back then the lap record was a shade under 100mph, now the top bikes lap at over 130 making it the fastest motorcycle race in the world!

BOOK OF THE WEEK
The Amazing Bugattis
Lavish catalogue from the 1979 Arts Council exhibition in London which showcased not only the cars of Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean, but other works of art created by members of the family.
The exibition caused quite a stir at the time and increased the interest in anything Bugatti related from furniture and sculpture to Grand Prix cars!
This nicely produced softback of approx 84 pages contains many excellent illustrations , descriptions and critiques of the various items on display - which naturally included much by Ettore himself. We have a good condition example in stock. It has a crease mark on the lower right corner and general shelf wear, but it's now a collectible items and significant in the modern day perception of Bugatti.
