The first  100 known/recognized attempts to build a genuine "Horseless Carriages"  detailed for the period 1769 - 1871. From Cugnot to the dawn of the modern motor car by way of steam rollers, road cars, buses and tractor units...and in Britain the dratted 'red-flag-act' that slowed progress for decades thanks to the usual vested interests of the politicians...nothing changes in that respect! 58pp of great detail not found elsewhere. The book is Ex. Library  and has quite a stained cover although the content remains in good condition.
