Atmospheric photo from the 1952 Production car race at Silverstone, which supported the International Trophy.
In this shot a bareheaded Stirling Moss is at the wheel of the factory entered C Type Jaguar (XKC02) with which he won the race from the factory Aston Martin's of Parnell, Abecassis and Macklin.
It looks as if the photo either shows Moss running the car round to the pit area for practice or perhaps completing part of the scrutineering process. Either way an official is waving him through. The sleek lines of the C Type are very evident in this shot.
