Rare Action photo of JPS Lotus team drivers Brian Henton and Jim Crawford at speed in qualifying during the 1975 British GP event. Not a great photo but very rare to see them in the same shot!
Both drivers were stars of British F3/Atlantic and progressed very quickly to test-driver roles in the Lotus team. Sadly the famousd Lotus 72 was no longer a front runner by this time and both driv
ers struggled on the two ocassions they each actually got a race drive.
At Silverstone Henton finished 16th but Crawford retired. Jim only had one other race for Lotus (Italian GP - 13th), Brian ran in the US GP but retired.
Henton went on to win the European F2 series in 1980, raced for Toleman, Arrows and Tyrrell in F1 in the 1980s.
Crawford raced in British F1 in the late 70s, European F2 in the early 80s, was the British F1 series champion in 1982 and then went to the USA and was 2nd in the 1984 Can Am series and a regular at the Indy 500 in the 80s and 90s.
