VOLUME 4 Of the famous "Black Books" by Sheldon, Rabagliati and members of the Formula One Register.

Covers all known Grands Prix, Voiturette, F1 and F2 races run anywhere in the world between 1937 and 1949, including all of the small, local ones that ran at tracks as diverse as Perpignan, Pescara, St Helier(Jersey) & Vallentuna(Sweden) and all the major ones like Spa, Monza and the Nurbrugring.

The first three seasons are of course pre-war and the era in which the Mercedes and Auto Union "Silver Arrows" dominated GP racing and all their races are included with drivers like Nuvolari, Lang, Rosemeyer and Carracciola starring as well as the little 1500cc Voiturette Mercedes that won it's only event in Libya.

The Voiturette scene is a battle between ERA, Maserati and Alfa Romeo

The later, post-war seasons the newly termed Formula 1 events were dominated by Alfa Romeo and the emerging Ferrari, and feature the early appearances in Europe of Juan Manuel Fangio and a kid called Stirling Moss....
