Allard sports car had a very successful competition career in racing rallying and trials from the late 30s to the mid 1950s and produced some of the fastest and most powerful road going cars of the era with Chevrolet and Cadillac V8 engines.
Sidney Allard holds a unique place in history being the only man to win the MONTE CARLO RALLY driving a car of his own manufacture.
Late that same year an Allard sports racing car ran 2nd at Le Mans in the 24 hours again with Sidney at the wheel. A few years earlier he'd also won the RAC British Hillclimb championship in a car of his own design featuring a Styer air cooled V8.
