Rare previously unpublished photo of Auto Union D Type V12 Grand Prix car #4 in the 1938 Donington Grand Prix.

This one was driven by the  race winner, the legendary Tazio Nuvolari. Here he's seen at full speed on the old Starkey' straight, which is now the perimeter round that runs outside the wall, parallel with the current straight of the same name (which runs along the line of those telegraph poles visible in the background). If you visit Donington to day you can drive along this section as it's the access road between the the museum and the exhibition buildings at the top of the car park!

Photo available 10x7 inch or 7x5 inch (254x178mm or 175x125mm)
Newly printed up in a commercial photo lab from the original slide held in our archives. The actual print hasnone of the copyright lettering present
