Scottish driver Ninian Sanderson in the cockpit of the Ecurie Ecosse entered Cooper Bristol F2 car at Turnberry in 1952 with the Frazer Nash of John Melvin in the background, lined up on the grid.
Sanderson finished third behind the Connaught of Mike Hawthorn (we have a photo of them on our Store) and the similar Cooper Bristol of John Barber.
The Ecurie Ecosse team founded by David Murray was a Scottish based outfit who won fame by back to back victories in the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1956 and 1957 - Sanderson was one of the drivers of the victorious Jaguar D Type.
