Epic heavyweight 348 page study of the famous English race circuit set in the ground of a stately home and scene of the famous Mercedes-v-Auto Union battles in the Grands Prix of 1937-38, and decades later of perhaps Ayrton Senna's most famous victory in the rain soaked 1993 European GP.
Author John Bailey has produced a uniquely designed exploration of the origins and creation of the track, it's epic years, the decades of disuse and revival under the new ownership of local millionaire Tom Wheatcroft to the fraught and ill fated attempt to wrest the British GP from Silverstone and the subsequent near closure when that failed.
Combining striking then-and-now montages, original documentation, plans, correspondence, programmes and first hand accounts by those involved, this is both an affectionate homage to the venue and a record of the vastly changing world of motor racing over 9 decades.
This is the 'standard  edition' new and unopened.
