Rare colour action photo of Mike Parkes Ferrari 312V12 leading the 1967 Sailt Express Trophy from Jackie Stewart's BRM P83 H16.
Parkes won the event, Stewart suffered final drive failure in the unreliable H16. In the background you can see Jack Brabham passing Jo Siffert. Jack finished 2nd, Jo was 3rd.
The backdrop is Silverstone as it was. This is the entry to Club Corner which was then a fast right hander after a short straight from the similarly quick Stowe with it's scaffolding grandstands. Prior to the track modifications in 1991 this view had been more or less unhanged since the early 1950's.
