For one whole season, the author took his tape recorder where his Press, Paddock & Pit passes allowed (& possibly where they didn't..) to play Fly-on-the-wall in this closely guarded environment. All the names connected with F1 as it moves around the globe seem to get a voice here, drivers, team members, organisers, medics, the press and TV people etc. All airing their opinions (probably their tow-the-line opinions...) on what is good & what is not about whole scene, what they would doubtless change & why, for the good of the Sport or for their little niche alone. A fascinating assignment of ten years ago, but in many ways. This was 1990 but apart from the numbers being bigger and the restrictions more so, it's probably little different...Although many of the names have changed in the meantime. 352 pages. fine book and fine jacket
