Noted historian, and prolific author, Griffith Borgeson's final book charts the design and history of the last effective landmark design from Miller racing cars, the most successful innovative and prolific builder on Indianapolis cars of the vintage era. By the time this car appeared in the early 1930s, the firm had suffered the financial hardships of the Wall St crash, and the depression but it's use of an early four wheel drive system offered a new horizon for racing car design...but several decades too soon!. It ran at Indy from 1932-37 and did place 4th on one occassion and did race in Europe too before ending up in the hands of engineer and test pilot Bill Milliken. He ran the car in hillclimbs through to 1951. It was restored in the 1990

Recounted in great detail with masses of reproduced letters, plans and documentation that puts the car into historical perspective within the Miller saga and general motor racing world of the time. This is a highly informative work with a plethora of period photos. A quality publication of 330 large pages with book and jacket is in very good, clean condition
