1903. First Edition. Surprisingly given the date of publication the author bought his car secondhand and engaged a youngster (cheap labour) to work on it, clean it and also to drive it when it did not suit the Major to do so himself. They learnt together with an element of trial & error, but by & large keep the costs to a level suitable to a Man of Modest Means! If you are familiar with Charles Mortimer's book "The Constant Search" I would refer you to the first half of P. 54. in which he rates this book highly, I will add no more. This rare book is in generally good & tight condition albeit very scruffy grubby stained cover. 158 pages A picture of the Major, the Boy and the Car as frontipiece.
