Hefty 500+ page history of the three famous pioneering and sporting marques, One French, two English, that made up a kind of European General Motors corporation in the 1920s. The story of each make in turn and then story of their combined fortunes through Grand Prix and Land Speed Record success to financial failure in the 30s and the selling off of the English sections to the Rootes Group , from which the two remaining marques revived somewhat post-war. Lots of great names involved from drivers Segrave and Guinness to designer-engineers Coatalon and Roesch . Good condition book in a fair colour copy of an original jacket. The book carries a plate in the front indicating it was given as a school prize in 1956 and the front cover cloth carries a rather grand embossing of the school coat of arms.
