Highly collectible 1978 biography of the larger-than-life British racing driver Gerry Marshall.
Gerry was most famous famous for driving various Vauxhall saloon and BTCC cars extraordinarily fast and usually sideways. He finished 2nd at the Spa 24 hrs co-driving Aussie legend Peter Brock and won literally hundreds of races in everything from Mini's and Dolomite's to FF1600 and Grands Prix Aston Martins. At one time he was said to get more fan mail than current F1 hero James Hunt! He also starred in the Tour of Britain rally in the mid 70s and ran in Autocross, sprints and more or less anything he could drive fast...which was almost everything he sat in!
Lots of anecdotes from his early career up to the point where Vauxhall pulled out of racing and his career moved towards other makes. Famous as a man who liked a pint and a bit of fun after the racing was over he was occasionally a bit of a hell-raiser along with fellow drivers/drinker/pranksters Tony Lanfranchi and Barrie Williams and his off track antics often rivalled those behind the wheel.
Great book on a truly great character and brilliant driver.
