Lovely atmospheric shot of Louis Chiron at the wheel of his OSCA F2 car . Chiron Louis was a leading racer in the 1930s and a former factory team driver for Mercedes, Alfa Romeo and Bugatti. By the time this photo was taken he was quite a mature gentleman to be racing in this kind of event (he would have been in his 50s I think).
The OSCA was built by the Maserati brothers after they sold their self-named car company to the Orsi family.
This is in the Silverstone Paddock at the 1953 Daily Express Trophy and the old pits are visible in the background
