The story of a brilliant mind and a brave soul. The son of a Welsh cleric, Thomas became chief designer at LEYLAND before WW1 , penned buses, trucks and aero engine, then the Roll-Royce like Leyland Eight before embarking on a stellar career as a racing driver at Brooklands. His ultimate achievent was to break the Land Speed Record in 1926 at pendine sands in his homeland but tragically he was killed there the following year trying to go even faster. The car known as 'Babs' was buried in the sands for decades, but was unearthed in 1969 and restored to race again - recently at Goodwood . 176 pages, book is very good and has a name written in the flyleaf Jacket has  some small repairs, is a little  along the top edge of the spine  and has signs of wear at the extremities .
