Biography of the first American driver to win the F1 world championship (driving for Ferrari) and also a multile winner at Le Mans, one of the first drivers of the GT40 and a winner in the revolutionary winged Chaparral sports racing car. Hill was the first of a group of West Coast driver (Gurney, Ginther and others followed) who rose through the ranks of SCCA sports car racing rather than via the traditional Indycar route. From wealthy stock, cultured, educated and well connected, Hill went on to advise of the movie GRAND PRIX and then to commentate and to restore fine antique cars after his racing days were done. For years this was one of the rarest driver biographies around, untill this revised edition of the 1962 original appeared . Very good book but the jacket has some sratches on the front, a but of paper loss along the top edge at the back and some rubbing down the hinges.
