How it was for the residents and the Welsh border town , most famous for it's horse racing course and it's Norman castle, during WW2 when the town's engineering works  produced small ships and landing craft and there was a little known fighter base where the horse had previously run. 272 pages  fine condition except a small creaes across top right front coner of cover.
