Nice photo printed from an original period slide of Australian race driver Brian McGuire at the wheel of his modified Williams FW04 IN EARLY 1976 - it appeared in pale green KELLY GIRL colours later in the year.
Brian retitled the car a McGuire BM1 by 1977 and he tried and failed to qualify for the British GP at Silverstone (35th of 36 entries).
McGuire was an early team mate of Alan Jones when the pair first raced in England for the Dart team however McGuire's career didn't take off like Jones (1980 F1 world title) and he ran this privately entered Williams in the British F1 championship during 1976 and 1977 against the likes of Purley, McGee, deVilotta, Trimmer, Wilds and Evans, winning one race in the rain at Thruxton.Sadly he crashed the car at Brands Hatch later in 1977 and was killed. This is a seemingly rare photo of the car with it's driver, bareheaded at the wheel.
